Accessibility in Action!
At ISCAP – Porto Accounting and Business School of Porto Polytechnic, from April 28th to May 6th, an ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Program brought together an intercultural team, poised to make Porto’s Academic Week (Queima das Fitas) more inclusive in a real-world project. And that’s just what they did. In a 40-page report, not only did they audit some of Queima’s most renowned events, they proposed ways in which the public – including but not limited to people with disabilities – could more actively participate.
Over and beyond the goals set for the BIP, empathy, communication and mutual support underscored what it means to be human, promoting awareness of our differences but also our similarities. Going forward, the next step is to bring on board Queima’s organizers and effectively apply the strategies our dream team put together.
Thank you to the Program Coordinator, @Paula Almeida, and the Lecturers @Yana Marques, @Joana Fernandes and @Graça Chorão and to our partners, @Universidad de Vigo and @University of Maribor, and all the participant students!
