Nota biográfica:
Garry Carnegie is an Emeritus Professor of RMIT University, a member of CPA Australiaand Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and an Associate Editor of Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal and has guest editing thematic special issuesof AAAJ since 1996. He was Editor/Joint Editor of Accounting History for a continuous period of 25 years (1995 to 2019) and was the Consulting Editor during 2020. He is a Life Member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) and a recipient of the Academy of Accounting Historians Hourglass Award andthe AAAJ Interdisciplinary Accounting Research Hall of Fame Award. His research interests are accounting, acccoutability and governance and their interconnections, with specialresearch interests in accounting history and accounting education. Professor Carnegie is co-editor of, and contributor to, the EE Handbook of Accounting, Accountability and Governance, published in September 2023. He advocates for the disciplne of accounting to aspire to reach its full potential by redefining accounting, in accordance with its essence, to shape to better world from tomorrow. To this end, together with Professors Lee Parker and Ileana Steccolini, he is a Joint Editor of a Routledge book in prepartion, to be published as“The Future of Accounting Research: Shaping a Better World“.
