No próximo dia 20 de Março, pelas 9h30, realiza-se o seguinte seminário no âmbito do ciclo The ISCAP/IPP Accounting Webinar Series.

A critical review of AI in accounting education: Threat and opportunity.  Oradores convidados: Professora Joan Ballantine (Ulster University) e Professor Greg Stoner (University of Glasgow).

O webinar está integrado nas actividades de unidades curriculares da Licenciatura em Contabilidade e Administração; Licenciatura em Assessoria e Tradução; Licenciatura em Comunicação Empresarial; Mestrado em Contabilidade e Finanças; Mestrado em Finanças Empresariais; e Mestrado em Gestão e Regime Jurídico-Empresarial da Economia Social.

Guest Speakers:

Professor Joan Ballantine is an accounting graduate and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA). She previously worked at Warwick Business School (where she undertook a part-time PhD) and Queen’s University Belfast. She is currently a Professor of Accounting, Ulster University (since 2008). She has experience of teaching a range of subjects at both undergraduate and Masters level. Joan is an active researcher and is passionate about accounting education and gender equality (including gender budgeting and gender in senior management). She is widely published and is on the editorial board of several international journals such as Journal of Accounting Education and Accounting Education. Joan holds two board positions and is an Independent Assessor for the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Northern Ireland. Joan she was recently awarded the 2023 British Accounting & Finance Association's Outstanding Contribution to Accounting & Finance Education Award (OCAFEA) for her "substantial and direct contribution to UK accounting and finance education over the course of your career". Professor Greg Stoner has a PhD in accounting history and education from the University of Glasgow and is a Professor of Accounting, with primary research interests in the history of accounting, the accounting profession, accounting education and the impact and utilisation of information systems (and IT) in accounting practice and higher education. Greg is currently Editor for Accounting Education (previously Accounting Education: an international journal), is on the editorial board of Accounting and Business Research, and was Associate Editor of Issues in Accounting Education (one of the three primary publications of the American Accounting Association).

Greg is Chair of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Accounting Education Special Interest Group (AESIG), is on the executive committee of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), is a member of the Education Committee of the European Accounting Association (EAA), is Co-chair of the International Member Outreach Committee of the AAA (American Accounting Association) Teaching Learning and Curriculum Section, and ex officio member of the executive board of the IAAER, the International Association for Accounting Education and Research. Greg was a Member of the most recent QAA (The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education) Benchmarking Review Groups for both Accounting & Finance (2014-2016). For more info:
