No próximo dia 9 de junho, pelas 09h30, decorrerá um seminário subordinado ao tema "Risk Management and Accounting in Public Universities in Australia: COVID-19 and onshore international students", que conta com o orador convidado Garry Carnegie (RMIT University, Australia).

O webinar decorre no âmbito da Linha de Investigação "Accountability and Reporting" desenvolvida pelo CEOS.PP e das actividades da U.C. Fundamentos de Economia e Contabilidade da Licenciatura em Comunicação Empresarial; da U.C. de Contabilidade Financeira da Licenciatura em Contabilidade e Administração; e U.C. de Contabilidade Internacional do Mestrado em Contabilidade e Finanças; e é dirigido a estudantes, docentes e investigadores da área da contabilidade.

Guest Speaker:
Professor Garry Carnegie is an Emeritus Professor of RMIT University. He commenced this role on 1 January 2018, having served in the roles of Head, School of Accounting and Professor of Accounting at RMIT from 2010 to 2017. Before joining academe, Professor Carnegie gained experience in the IT industry, public accounting, and in the financial services industry. Currently, he is an Education Advisor at CPA Australia.

His research is concerned with accounting, accountability and governance in both contemporary and historical contexts, while key teaching interests are in financial accounting and financial reporting and analysis at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Garry Carnegie has published his research in journals such as Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Accounting HistoryBritish Accounting Review, Australian Accounting Review, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Critical perspectives on Accounting, Accounting Education, European Accounting Review, Abacus, among other. He has also written and contributed several textbooks and books, including The Routledge Companion to Qualitative Accounting Research Methods.   
Professor Carnegie joined the Editorial Board of Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal in 1993 and became an Associate Editor of the journal in 2013. He is also consulting Editor of Accounting History. He convened the 8th Asia-Pacific Interdisciplinary Research in Accounting conference held in Melbourne in 2016.
