The Centre for
Intercultural Studies (CEI)
of the Polytechnic Institute of Oporto’s School of Accounting
and Administration (ISCA-IPP) develops applied and fundamental
research and co-operates with other national and international
institutions in scientific, technical and cultural projects.
CEI’s designation and
goals comprehend the whole intercultural and interdisciplinary
field created not only by its team’s experience in teaching and
research, but also by the opportunities for cultural interchange
CEI has been establishing.
In order to proceed with these purposes, CEI organizes and hosts
the I International Conference on Intercultural Studies, on 9
December 2008, directed towards all those teachers, students,
and national and international researchers who develop an active
interest for the vas field of Intercultural Studies.
Therefore,
we welcome the submission of 20
minute paper proposals in Portuguese, English, French, German or
Spanish with: title, subject area and abstract (250 words) and
bionote (100 words), until 15 June 2008, to:
cei@iscap.ipp.pt.
Paper proposals should
cover, but not necessarily be restricted to, one of the
following broad subject areas:

Papers that are
accepted and actually read at the Conference will be selected
and considered for national and international publication.
Registration is
free for the teachers and students of
ISCA-IPP
(valid certificate is required).
Panel “Young Researchers”
The I International
Conference on Intercultural Studies hosts a special panel for
undergraduate and post-graduate students from ISCA-IPP who wish
to present 15 minute individual or collective papers.
Papers that are
accepted and actually read at the Conference will be selected
and considered for national and international publication.
Students should
submit their paper proposals
in Portuguese, English, French, German or Spanish with: title
and abstract (250 words) and personal data, until 15 June
2008, to:
cei@iscap.ipp.pt,
with Panel “Young Researchers”
at the subject.
Registration and
attendance is free for the students of
ISCA-IPP
(valid and recent certificate is required). The Organization
will deliver certificates of attendance and certificates of
participation with paper.
